“This is a wonderful opportunity to honor the inestimable Lupe Serrano and program director Pedro Pablo Pena,” said Wiles. “I am delighted to be able to dance with Sebastien in Miami and to join such a prestigious group of dancers from all over the world.”
The International Ballet Festival of Miami provides one of the few opportunities for top dancers from different major companies such as American Ballet Theater and New York City Ballet to perform with one another. Wiles and Marcovici both receive instruction from legendary ballet master David Howard in New York City. According to Howard, the duo is “a charismatic pairing that brings a beautiful international blend of Michele’s American and Sebastien’s Parisian roots to the stage.” The Ballet Festival of Miami will be the first time Wiles and Marcovici have performed together.
